Myztery is Back!

Hi!  You may be surprized to be getting a blog from Myztery when some months ago I announced that we were shutting Myztery down as a band to go in a new direction.  Well, I'm even more surprized that we started Myztery again yesterday!  Its a long story but we realized that God has a purpose for Myztery and the last five years we have been writing songs, recording, making CDs, DVDs, tshirts, Myztery cards, etc,. as well as touring all over Canada and the USA have not been in vain.  I got an inspiration while we were shopping in a grocery store in Crescent City, California to start Myztery up again. (We are on a five month tour here with our acoustic duo).

Anyways, we have tons of things to get working on for Myztery now, including completing the recording of Heaven on our Tempus Fugit album, and possibly add some guitars and drums etc. on Hell.   We are also setting up a site online where you can buy our whole hour long Tempus Fugit video.  Then we have to complete our latest album to release as well and prepare for more touring and later some recording in Arizona for 2 or 3 months.

We went swimming tonight and as soon as I got into the water I heard an interior voice from God saying "I will bless the world through Myztery."  Wow!  It was really cool.  We want to spread love, peace and joy to everyone and be a blessing.  Then after swimming we met a group of people and one lady said she had an interior vision of a huge door we were to go through and that a major financial blessing was coming to us from God.  I said amen to that :)  It is sometimes hard financially to be recording, touring, etc. when gas, food, vehicle expenses, etc. are there.  We recently had to pay over $2,500 just for emergency motor home repairs (the roof was leaking! AUG!)

We are doing an acoustic concert in Brookings on Friday and then touring our way down south in California and then arriving in Arizona where we will stay for a month to continue booking, rehearse, compose new songs, etc...

Love and peace,

Diamond

Drums for Hello! Hurray! and The Power of Love

Happy Canada Day to all Canadians! Star and I just wrote a new song called "Stand Guard." I was noodling away on my classical guitar this afternoon and came up with an interesting song and when Star heard it she brought out lyrics she had written during our Spirit of Canada tour in 2008. So, we stuck them together and it worked out really cool!

We're going to record my vocal part for the song soon and then probably send it out to all of our Myztery Buzzer ezine/newsletter subscribers, so if you want to hear it sign up at http://www.myztery.net/ at the Free Music page!

Last night our drummer Vern came out and did a great job recording the drums parts for "Hello! Hurray" and "The Power of Love." We worked late, till around midnight or later but it was well worth it.
What a great sunny day here in Vancouver! We're going to drive out to Mission later on to visit a monastery and walk around for fun. Tonight we'll continue recording the harp on "River Jordan" and other stuff. I also want to complete the 3rd adn 4th chapter of my 5th draft of Tested By Fire.
We changed our Myztery website www.myztery.net a bit: new buttons on the navigation bar, new colour text as well as some new Myztery photos taken by Andrea Seraphim on various pages. Hope you like the new look! Don't forget to sign up as a Myztery fan on our Facebook page, which our website now links directly to when you click on the Facebook button on our site. We need more fans!!! :)
Have a great day! CANADA ROCKS!!!

The Latest Buzz

The latest Myztery Buzz is that I've to get my butt moving to get our our first band newsletter, The Myztery Buzzer, like I said I would recently! I've had a bit of problems with the software I was using and actually lost all the work I did. So . . . now I'm going back to my Dreamweaver method and will hopefully send it out by later tonight or tomorrow. My absolute deadline is Wednesday!

Other than that issue bugging me we had a good day doing some editing of my book and also some planning for our upcoming tour. We've decided on a two month BC tour starting on August 22 with our Press Box gig in Vancouver.

We're in touch with a local booking agency with national scope. I finished editing the 2nd chapter of my book, draft number 4. What an awesome sunny day! Rolf Kempf asked Alice Cooper's management rep if Alice could do a review of my upcoming book and he said it sounded interesting but Alice can't do it at this time. He's on tour in Europe and naturally pretty busy doing that.

I also worked on our Myztery website, changing the buttons and uploading some of our latest promo photos, including the home page photo of Star and I taken by Vancouver photographer Andrea Seraphim. Actually, all the photos I put up today on our site are by Andrea.

Tonight we will continue recording our album "Cyber Superstar" and lay down more guitar and maybe a bunch of other instruments like shofar (ram's horn), violin, viola, ney (ancient Turkish flute) and other stuff.

Thanks for popping by and checking out the latest Myztery Newz!

3rd Draft of "Tested By Fire" Today

Hope you're having fun on this amazing sunny day!  Today Star and I are going for coffee and tea in New Westminster where I plan to complete the 3rd draft of my book "Tested By Fire."  I find it a very therapeutic experience writing my life story as well as my career path in music and spiritual experiences at the same time.  It's kind of like putting a jigsaw puzzle together and making sure all the pieces fit and are in the right spot.

Yesterday Star and I had a great time playing golf at a pitch and putt in Burnaby. Thanks to Alice Cooper and his book "Alice Cooper: Golf Monster" I've gotten back into recreational golfing. While I used to play the large courses I still prefer the small pitch and putt and so does Star.  Less walking and its fun to play the short game and lots of chipping and putting.

We may end up doing some recording tonight but its supposed to be a "day off" for us.  Still, I need to meet my deadline for writing my book, so I'll be working today.  We've got a couple smaller acoustic shows coming up this week and a weekend of concerts later this month on Vancouver Island, acoustic versions as well.

Star and I were shocked, of course, to hear of the deaths of Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett.  May they rest in the peace of God. +  I know too well the dangers of prescription drugs, having been overmedicated to the point of convulsions and falling over when walking quite a few years ago.

It is really important for everyone, especially public figures and famous people, to take time just to "be" and smell the roses, walk, ride a bike, play tennis, golf, ski and just chill for a while.  I also know the dangers of working too hard to the point of neglecting my physical and emotional health.   Spread love, joy and peace,

Michael Jackson & Farrah Fawcett R.I.P.

Star and I were both shocked to hear today of the deaths of Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett.  May their souls rest in the peace of God.  What an impact both had on the world of music and television.  Today we continued to record lead vocals, bass guitar, electric guitar for various songs.  I also continued to edit the 3rd draft of my book which is now called "Tested By Fire."

What impressed me today on tv was the fans of Michael Jackson who said it was his love and his desire to change the world that really touched them.  One man said "music is a powerful force."  What a great saying.  One of our desires as Myztery is to spread love, peace and positive change in the world.  This is the meaning behind our songs like "Weapons of Love" and "Somebody Loves You" and many others which will be released on our upcoming album which now has a new name to be announced in August.

The photo in today's blog is a memorial from us for Michael and Farrah.  I took the photo on one of our USA tours in California at a friend's house.  We believe that death is not the end but only the beginning of a life lived in heaven with God for all those who live in love, peace and friendship with God.  May Michael and Farrah enjoy the everlasting love, peace and joy of heaven.  Light a candle today for them and say a prayer. +

Peace and love always,

Olympic Meeting & Tandem Music Group

Very busy day today!  We had an early morning Vancouver Olympics meeting with about 40 different people in a variety of businesses, including entertainment and media. Thanks to our new friend and composer George E. Brooks for the invite!

We met a lot of cool people and are having a further meeting with a local communications firm called Jive Communications.  In the afternoon we had a consultation meeting with Graham Way of Tandem Music Group/API Music Publishing to discuss our current album as well as our Tempus Fugit CD and DVD, touring, digital distribution and a number of other related issues in music. It was great to sit down with Graham and learn from his many years of experience and truly global perspective as a result of his travels throughout the world attending major music trade conferences.

Thanks to Graham we've made some positive changes with respect to our upcoming album, have cut a couple of songs out and added a "new" song which I actually composed many years ago.  I added a new section to the chorus and more lyrics which both complete the song and make it more contemporary.

Our album will now "officially" have a total of 12 songs.  That is pretty much carved in stone.  I'd like to put a plug in for Music BC for any bands or solo artists living in BC.  It is a great organization and you will benefit greatly from attending their workshops and using their musicbcdirectory.  Check them out at www.musicbc.org  There is a nominal fee to join and you can join as a solo artist or a whole band for a little more.

Well, that's about all the news for today other than we are going out for a long overdue walk and cup of herbal tea or something like that.   Got to take care of our health!  Stay happy!

Meeting the Mayor of Burnaby

Yesterday Star and I met the Mayor of Burnaby, Derek Corrigan as well as MP Peter Julian for the Burnaby-Edmonds area. We met at the grand opening of the CIBC near Highgate Village in Burnaby where we enjoyed hot dogs, pop and recorded music.

Trevor Linden was also there signing autographs and he cut the ribbon to mark the event. Yesterday we also drove out east to start up our tour bus and pay our monthly storage fee.

We printed the 2nd draft of my upcoming autobiography, Shine On, last night and enjoyed a beer and marguerita and some yam friest at the Frog and Firkin.  Now I have the task of doing the third draft, i.e., filling out the story, making it more readable and full of life and so on.

We've decided to begin our tour early this time: right after our August 22nd show we will hit the road east in Canada and then head down south to the USA in November.  I uploaded our Weapons of Love video to our Myztery You Tube channel but it seems it may be too big of a file to play properly so I will have to upload a smaller file version tomorrow or the next day.

Take time to smell the roses . . .
